PMSS awarded Glyndebourne Owner’s Engineer contract


Leading renewable energy consultancy, PMSS has been appointed as Owner’s Engineer and Project Managers to oversee the procurement and construction of the Glyndebourne wind turbine located at Glyndebourne Opera House near Lewes, East Sussex.

Gus Christie, Executive Chairman of Glyndebourne Productions Ltd, said:

On 11th July 2008, the Secretary of State granted permission for the wind turbine to supply the opera house with clean renewable energy thus significantly reducing Glyndebourne’s direct carbon emissions. Glyndebourne also received consent to install an anemometry mast and has been gathering on-site data in advance of preparing for turbine supply and construction works.

He continued to say:

“PMSS continues to be innovative in its provision of support services to onshore wind developments and this project represents the first of many which will be established under the new Feed-In Tariff regime, launched in April of this year.”

The project is scheduled for commencement of construction in spring / summer 2011 and PMSS scope of works includes general Project Management as well as management of the tender and contract negotiation process on behalf of Glyndebourne.
